Iraq’s bloodiest day of 2012

It seems like the powers that be constantly remind us of Iraq.

Why Iraq?

Syria is in the midst of complete turmoil. Libya has not recovered from its chaos. Global economies across the waters have not balanced their books. Haiti was never fully committed to and still wears a cloak of darkness. Enough could never be written about our lack of love or care for Africa (profitable resources/gemstones aside).

But our perpetual focus is always Iraq.

My heart goes out to those whose lives were lost in this latest wave of attacks that killed more than 100 across Iraq. But it makes me wonder (other than the obvious oil connection), why do “we” so closely patrol the atrocities of Iraq while turning a seemingly blind eye to the other ills of this dying world?

Is it really just oil? Hmmmm…..
