I’m sure you’ve done it too. Maybe at a meeting. Maybe during the sermon at church (sorry Pops). Perhaps you’re doing it now.
It’s no big deal, right? You’ve had a long day. You’re a little tired. You lean back a bit, open up your mouth and let a good yawn reverberate out of your lungs. Ahhh! Simply refreshing.
So what’s the big deal? Well….if you happen to be a soldier attending a ceremony honoring assassinated Israeli prime minister Yitzhak Rabin, a simple yawn could land you in jail for 21 days!
According to published reports, that’s exactly what happened for one unfortunate soldier who got caught with his mouth open during his commander’s speech honoring Rabin. Apparently when the commander saw the guy yawn while he was speaking, the commander stopped talking and eventually ordered that sleepy solider to 3 weeks behind bars for his simple yet extremely dishonorable lack of respect.
Wow! 3 weeks behind bars for a yawn! I’d hate to think what the soldier would have gotten if he eased a little gas out too. Lol. That’s hardcore!
